3 column portfolio setup

   Hi all,

   Can someone please give me the short version of how to set up a three column portfolio page with descriptions like in the demo site?

   I followed the directions in the documentation, and I ended up with a dead image on the gallery page (never stops with the loading wheel) and having the image post/category on my blog page. I really just want a bunch of galleries on separate pages... do they have to be created like blog posts? Seems a little odd.

   Oh, and another question. I'm using the Awake theme with WP 3.1.2. At the log in screen I'm getting the following on the bottom left:

   Expand
   next previous
   Close
   Previous
   0/0
   Next
